We
are excited to announce the opening of our newest destination,
Coyhaique Lodge, featuring the same dedication to quality as our
other much heralded fishing venues.
Coyhaique
lodge is situated at the center of the largest river
drainage in the region covering a total of 4,500 square miles.
The lodge is located East of the Andes, and thus a drier region
than areas further West that have higher levels of precipitation.
Three
years of exploration in this area has revealed some fantastic
new waters for our guests.
Coyhaique
Lodge is located 10 miles south of the town of Coyhaique in the
heart of Chilean Patagonia.
This privileged
location allows our guests to enjoy many great rivers such as
the Simpson, Paloma, Ñireguao, Huemules, Blanco, and Emperador
Guillermo. Additionally, there are several remote and lesser known
but equally spectacular streams, spring creeks and more than a
dozen smaller lakes.
Pristine,
clear streams offer varied fishing, fantastic dry fly action,
and challenging sight fishing in both streams and still water.
We prioritize dry fly fishing, but when surface action is slow,
streamers and nymphs are very productive. The great quantity of
waters available will provide our guests with a variety of quality
fishing found nowhere else in Patagonia today.
For the past 15 years our company, Rios Azules,
has explored remote corners of Chile in search of superior fishing.
As a result, we pioneered three unique fishing locations: Estancia
de Los Rios, Rivers of the Chilean Fjords and Fundo El Salto Lodge.
We are pleased to announce a fourth. The much-heralded
fishing in the Coyhaique area has anglers returning year after
year for its abundant fishing and superb variety.
The town of
Coyhaique is located in the Aysen region of Chile, approximately
800 miles south of Chile’s capital Santiago, by the Eastern
slope of the Southern Andes. With only 42,000 inhabitants and
a total of 85,000 for the entire Aysen region, it boasts one of
the lowest population densities in the country.
